Who We Are

Ruth Hendel and Stephen Hendel conceived and produced the musical FELA!, which ran on Broadway, London's Royal National Theater, and on tour all over the world. The Hendels are currently represented on Broadway by the Tony Award-nominated productions Illinoise and Stereophonic, and regionally by Judgment Day starring Jason Alexander at Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Recent productions include the Tony Award-winning revival of Parade starring Ben Platt and Michaela Diamond, Ain’t too Proud, Beetlejuice, and Mean Girls. Ruth’s select co-producing credits include The Band's Visit, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Clybourne Park, A Raisin in the Sun (all Tony Award winners). Stephen has served as executive producer of Alex Gibney's documentary Finding Fela, and producer of Saul Williams' Afrofuturistic Rwandan film, Neptune Frost (2021).

Mitch has been with Hendel productions since 2018. Before joining Hendel Productions, Mitch was Director of Marketing and Sales for the New London Barn Playhouse, founding Associate Producer of JAG Productions in the Upper Valley of Vermont, and General Management Fellow with The Play Company. As a teaching artist, Mitch has worked with the National Dance Institute in New York, and MTCA: Musical Theatre College Auditions, among other organizations and schools. Mitch graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a BFA in Musical Theatre.

Maxwell has been with Hendel Productions since 2019. Max is currently a co-executive producer and engineer of the Grammy-nominated world premiere cast recording of Burt Bacharach and Steven Sater’s Some Lovers. He was recently the Producing Associate for Cody Lassen on the Off-Broadway musical, A Commercial Jingle for Regina Comet. Max was also a Producing Assistant on Paper Mill Playhouse’s Benny and Joon, and a Producing Associate for the first Pride Plays Festival. Maxwell is a proud graduate of Northwestern University
